Carolina Sunrock has been a provider of ballast and other construction aggregates to Class I and short line railroads for over 20 years (in addition to supplying asphalt and concrete to the Raleigh-Durham markets). Sunrock ships high quality aggregates from three central North Carolina quarries by truck, and from one of these quarries by rail via Norfolk Southern. The rail-served Butner, NC quarry is able to accommodate unit trains and can load and release them in less than three hours. All products are subject to strict quality control and consistently exceed DOT and Class I railroad specifications.
